Kailee is 18!!!!

I have been in denial that this day would come... but here it is! My sweet Kailee Anne is 18 years old! Today I was thinking of the moment I saw her for the first time after having my first c-section and I cannot get over the fact that the years have flown and that sweet baby girl is now a grown up. My side kick... who has grown into one of my very best friends! She is an amazing girl. She is so full of life. So happy... she can always find a reason to laugh... and dance! I think she truly believes that idea that life is too short to be anything but happy.

Today while I was driving home from town alone, I was thinking of her 'birth' day. I was 5 days past my due date and so ready to meet her. Kimi and I had prayed so hard for a little sister and we were very excited to have her join our family. I had gone to the doctor for my appointment and they told me what I already knew. That she was turned in a way that made it impossible to have her naturally. So he told me I could head over to the hospital and they would deliver her that evening. I was nervous, but so excited. My grandma and mom came over to see her and I kept going to sleep from the medication that had put in my IV after she was delivered and I wanted to be awake and talking... my grandma had flown for the first time in her life and I was so excited that she was there with me. She loved Kailee... and I did too! Holding my little Annie Belle felt like heaven! Kailee is one of the most mature, kind hearted, happy people I know. She accepts people no matter who they are. She doesn't judge them and doesn't expect them to be anyone but who they are. We have the best time together. We love to listen to 80's music and dancing as we drive down the road. A friend of theirs went to the movie with us and as we came home we had the radio loud, the windows down and were singing loud and laughing. She told us that was the funnest trip she had ever taken (we drove about 2o miles but it had been a midnight movie so it was early in the morning). Kailee told her, "This is just a normal trip to town for us!" Anywhere Kailee is, fun is sure to follow.

I appreciate her 'mother's heart' and the absolute goodness inside her. I love how she isn't embarrassed to hang out with her mom! I love her kindness. I love being her mom!

Happy Birthday sweet girl! May you always take on life with the zest and excitement that you do now... My wish for you is to live like you have nothing to lose, to be loved the way that you love others, to be able to find joy even when you have trials and to know, without a doubt that you are cherished and loved!!!

Gabe kept staring at the Christmas tree and would point at the angel at the top of the tree and say, "Who's that?"
My very own rockstars!!!!

Beth and Kassi were excited to celebrate Kailee's big day!
Kailee was trying to gross Jace out with her mouth full of food! She of course requested steak and garlic mashed potatoes. It takes so little to make this girl really happy!!! And her dad came home early to grill the steaks outside, it negative degree weather. Now that is love!!!
Kassi picked out the cake because she thinks Kailee is a princess!

Gabe is ready to party like a rock star!!!
Happy Birthday pretty girl!
She blew them out in one breath... guess that means all of her wishes come true!
We were singing Happy Birthday so loud that it scared Gabe! I think Jace is telling him he is going to have to toughen up! haha
HEY... it glows! Kailee said, "Now I finally have a night light!" :)

Going to Tangled in 3D...

We were planning a trip to Utah to see the lights at Temple Square but we have been worried about Nate being out in the FREEZING cold... it has been miserable cold and was supposed to be on Friday. So we decided to have a day of play right here at home. Everyone had wanted to see Tangled and our new and improved theater now plays 3D movies. We spent the day hanging out, doing some shopping and then to the movie. It was a fantastic movie, the kids had a blast and the whole day turned out to be really wonderful!!!

Silly kids.... Checotah, Kassi, Willie, Kinzee and Kalli sporting their geek glasses after the movie!
Kalli and Kassi... What???!!!
Kami and Kinz ....
Wyatt and Hyrum excited for the movie...
Hayden and his stylin' 3D glasses!
Kalli, Kinzee, Kami and Kassi ready for the movie!
Nate surprised me and sat with Kimi through the entire movie WITH his 3D glasses on! So fun!!! He loves hanging out with Matt too!

Fun with Kimi...

We love that Kimi is happy and married... and we love Matt! But what we don't love is that Kimi lives 4 1/2 hours away from us!!!! So we are especially thrilled when Kimi gets to come home to visit and we took advantage of her being here this weekend. It was so great to have her home... so great to spend some really amazing, quality time with her. Nate got in his snuggle jammies so he could snuggle with Kimi who happened to be in her own snuggle jammies! Such a great time and so glad that they were able to get here between storms and then make it safely home before the next storm hit! Love you Kimi... we miss you when you are gone!!! Sisters.... I think it is very hard for Kailee to have her sister so far away from her... but they take advantage of the times they have together! Including hanging out in matching jammies!!!

Kimi misses Gabe...
Awww... Nate loves Aunt Kimi too!

And.... he walks!

I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone by... Gabe has grown so fast and has such an amazing personality. He is always so happy! And now he has decided that he can walk. When he first started walking we would clap which would make him start laughing and clapping and fall down. It is so fun to see him learning about life and to see him growing up and learning so many new things! Our first grandbaby can WALK!!! How fun is this!!!! Yay Gabe... go baby go!!!

Showing off his new skills!
Making faces for grandma...

Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving was amazing this year... just a really nice day. Kimi and Matt were able to come over and Shayne, Kerry and their kids came out. We also had the missionaries, and Tiffany, Garrett and Gabe, Celeste (who is living with us), Tanner and Tanner's friend, Kenny. The only ones we were missing were Tallin, of course... and Jace and Caitlyn went to Montana. It was a fun, relaxing day with lots of food, lots of laughing... the kids and the missionaries went sledding (because Thursday happens to be the missionaries prep day and they get to play a little bit too!) and it ended up just being a very wonderful day! I love preparing Thanksgiving dinner and we had more than enough left overs. I feel so thankful for this amazing family, for the joy I feel when I look at them, watch them grow up, watch our family become exactly what I always dreamed about. I love hearing them laugh with each other. We had the perfect Thanksgiving day... exactly what it should be!

Hey Tiffany....
Aw... sweet Kami Dene...

Nate was so excited to have HIS Kimi home. He told Matt Kimi is his, Matt told him that no, Kimi is his.... and they argued back and forth but Nate insists that Kimi is, and always has been his!!! He does, however, love Matt and spent a fair amount of time on his lap or dragging him around but he was so happy to have his Kimi back! When it came time for them to leave he told them they had to stay till Sunday at least!
OH how this little man loves the whipped cream! And look at those blue eyes!!!
He said, "WHAT"?????
Right from the can... he will take it right from the can...

Sweet Gabe hanging with his grandpa and checking out the snow outside...
Tanner and Celeste getting ready to go in to Celeste's parents house!
Not sure what Tiffany and Kinzee are discussing so deeply but it must be important!
Whheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....
What a ride....
We can do this... we can take this hill!!!
Harlon....
Ready to take on the big hill!!!

Elder J has told us that he wants to be adopted. My problem is that I am not sure if I can afford two missionaries! :)
Bad boys... Elder J, Willie, Hayden, Wyatt and Elder S
Jarom, Jayson and Shayne... watching football and hanging out
Kami is ready to go sledding....
