We have weathered storms that tried to break us, but through it all, we have always tried to find the joy in our journey. Watching our family grow has given us more joy than we ever thought possible. Who is this boy....
And why is he calling my 12 year old daughter!!! And his voice is REALLY deep. He called her tonight so she could him with math. He called her last night to say hi. He called her the night before to... well, you get the picture. Who is he and WHY is he calling??? I'm so not ready for a 12 year old to have to deal with boys! There is a no dating till 16 rule and then it is double dating. She gets really bugged that he calls all of the time and will ask to please not answer the phone because he bugs her all of the time. She's not the fickle girl that says it but secretly loves it. She considers him a friend and she knows the rules. But it is very weird to answer the phone and have what sounds like a grown man (don't worry, he's not.... he's a real middle school age kid that lives not far from us) ask for my 12 year old daughter! Talk about making me feel older by the minute!

That would FREAK ME OUT! Time to have the talk with her about how to set boundaries? You know, tell her it's okay to use you as an excuse ("My mom told me that I'm not allowed to have phone calls on school nights any more because it's distracting from my homework..." Or whatever.)
