A wise man once said, "In all living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured." We have weathered storms that tried to break us, but through it all, we have always tried to find the joy in our journey. Watching our family grow has given us more joy than we ever thought possible. There is joy in the journey, even in the middle of the storms!

Not the best way to spend an anniversary!
We had great plans for our anniversary today. Great plans. But you know what they say about the best laid plans.... they just don't ever work out well. We were headed to Utah for a day away. And then we got the phone call. Jace had gone to the doctor yesterday to check out another spot on his knee. To the same clinic that told him he just had staff infection but not MRSA. Today it was worse than yesterday so after several phone calls they wanted him over in Salt Lake to get it checked out. We are still sitting in the emergency room waiting for him to be taking to an over night room (and then we can go to our hotel room!). They did blood work and x-rays and stuck a big needle in his knee to take fluid and also cultures and lo and behold they tell us that it is IN FACT... MRSA. The very thing they told us it was NOT in town. Gotta love the medical care we get in town. We are now waiting for the ortho specialist to come in. Because they are concerned that it could be in the joint they aren't letting him go and getting him on IV antibiotics. Sheesh!!! If it weren't for the fear of it being in the joint we could just go home and have him on antibiotics, but now he will likely have to go home on IV antibiotics. This is frustrating... and scary! Kailee is home sanitizing EVERYTHING. We were really careful anyway but she's washing all of his stuff in hot water and using antibaacterial wipes on everything! Oh boy.... another unforgetable day. But definately not for any reason we would want it to be!

Hey Kim- that totally stinks. My hubby had MRSA in a finger wound a few years ago. If dh had waited another day to go to the ER he would have lost at least the tip of his finger. A few days after getting home from the hospital, he had to go to a plastic surgeon to have the wound stiched closed. A plastic surgeon for a FINGERTIP, it cracked me up. Hope you get to spend some alone time w/ your hubby soon & no more kid injuries/illnesses allowed!
